Central Station Signaling CSS 4E

CSS 4E is a freely programmable, scalable device that, using a panel of light indicators and a set of relay outputs, signals the occurrence of a specific state on the binary inputs it is equipped with. Received signals can be grouped and individually assigned to optical indicators, relay outputs or reset inputs.

Characteristics of the Central Station Signaling CSS 4E

As standard, CSS 4E also has the ability to register, duplicate and translate signals, make them logically dependent on each other, and allows for the implementation of the functions of a field controller with three-valued logic. It is available in both cabinet-mounted and surface-mounted cases.

CSS 4E is an open system – the basic module can be equipped with expansion cassettes in the number depending on the user’s needs. The device archives signals and enables their simultaneous transmission to superior systems using the IEC 60870-5-103 and XMD-CCBUS protocols.

Depending on the version, different sizes of the signaling field are offered:

Cassette 3U

Cassette 6U

Signal field size CSS 4E module 40 x 12 [mm]

LED input synoptics 50

LED input synoptics 106

LED output synoptics 8

LED output synoptics 16

Signal field size CSS 4E module 30 x 22 [mm]

LED input synoptics 32

LED input synoptics 64

LED output synoptics 4

LED output synoptics 8

The full complement of one CSS 4E module may contain (regardless of the type of housing and the number of synoptic LEDs) a maximum of 112 isolated binary inputs, up to 64 relay outputs and up to 10 programmable keys performing, for example, test or reset functions. These keys can be duplicated by any of the binary inputs.
