Relay UTXvZ

UTXvZ is a full-scheme impedance protection option optionally equipped with a TRbus transmission channel for a unified teleprotection interface.
The basis for reliable operation of the protection is precise and quick measurement of the impedance of short-circuit loops, while simultaneously calculating the distance to the fault location.
All Z versions are equipped with voltage stage functions, power and energy measurement, synchronous line switching and 1- and 3-phase auto-reclose.
The UTXvZ series 3 protection is available in two versions:

Z/8 – version with eight analog inputs (IL1,IL2,IL3,IE/IE2, UL1,UL2,UL3,U4 (UE/Ub)),
Z/10 – version with ten analog inputs (IL1,IL2,IL3,IE,IE2, UL1,UL2,UL3,U4(UE),Usync),

Characteristics of the UTXvZ

multi-processor digital measurement and decision-making system with four groups of protection settings;
galvanic separation of individual inputs and outputs (analog and digital);
85/77/27WI – unified teleprotection interface, with “weak” power supply logic and “echo” function;
21/21N – six-zone, rectangular, underimpedance operating characteristic with independent settings for both: R and X (for phase-to-phase short circuits with “undercut” characteristics (RD and XD)) and RE and XE (for earth faults);
programmable direction for each zone and programmable angular area of operation of the under-impedance characteristics;
distance stage excitation type: under-impedance (from the 6th zone) and/or overcurrent;
voltage memory for determining the direction of close faults;
parallel track support for distance protection;
protection operation delay times can be set independently for phase-to-phase and earth faults in each zone and for each type of protection function (e.g. I>; U<, …);
ability of each zone or other protection stages to act on a signal (activation report);
voltage transformer fuse failure signaling;

79(3)(1) – single-phase (ZRP/8A, ZRP/8E) and/or three-phase, four-step, six-program AR automatic control for any function: protection or logic. The automatic recloser can be activated internally or externally. Handling developing faults. Single and/or three-phase switching;
21FL – precise fault location locator with compensation of the transfer resistance Rp;
33 – bay controller function with presentation of the bay status on a graphic display with support for 15 fully programmable switches;
possibility of linking to the “link” both each protection function and the auto-reclosure automation;
25/32 – automatic line switching on and blocking of line shutdown in the event of power swings (power swing detector) (ZRP/8, ZRP/8A, ZRP/8E);
50/51/51A – three-phase, two-stage overcurrent-time protection: (I>T and I>>T) with different time characteristics;
50H/51H(2) – second harmonic phase current detector,
49– thermal model (two stages, option),
67N – two-stage, directional earth-fault protection: (IEk1>T and IEk2>T) with rectangular and cosinusoidal angular characteristics and various time characteristics;
50N/51N – non-directional earth-fault protection with different time characteristics;
50BF/51BF – LRW circuit breaker reserve system (programmable current and time conditions);
handling external emergency shutdown requests (trip with short circuit report and LRW support);
74/74TC – station signaling functions UP, AL, AW;
programmable threshold for signaling the loss of phase voltages;
constant control of the continuity of circuit breaker tripping circuits;
27/59 – under- and overvoltage stages;
46/47 – signaling of current and voltage asymmetry;
85 – possibility of implementing automation between stations using the TRBus transmission channel (signal transmission, among others, for the universal teleprotection interface);
functions of “cooperation” with the switch, along with its remote control;

detailed reporting of the short-circuit clearance process, i.e.: event registration and disturbance recording (4 (3) voltages, 4 (3) currents and 16
digital channels with a sampling time of 1 ms) with the possibility of internal or external activation of the recorder; binary inputs provide a chronological record of protection operation and tripping;
time synchronization and synchronous sampling of analog inputs;
possibility of summing the values of short-circuit currents switched off by the circuit breaker;
power measurement, four-quadrant energy meters;
WZ shutdown counters and device operating times;
color graphic display 482×272, 11-button keyboard and 16 three-color LEDs (15 freely programmable);
reading of measurement values and a conclusion report on the display with their transmission to the superior system;
permanent control of the device’s internal systems;
three levels of password-protected permissions;
possibility of visualization, control and configuration via the SAZ 2000 program;
possibility of cooperation with the company’s Automatic Over Ethernet (AoE) station automation system.

UTX3 devices enable communication in the following protocols:

IEC 61850 – standard via the RJ45 Ethernet port implementing:

- QoS (Supports Quality-of-Service)
- VLAN (802.1Q tag-based VLAN function)
- SNTP (RFC 2030, RFC 4330)

- Equipping with a RedBox redundant transmission module extends the functionality by:
  - 2 x IEEE 802.3 100Base-FX LC connector or optional 2 x IEEE 802.3 10Base-T/100Base-TX
  - PRP parallel redundancy protocol and HSR uninterrupted high availability redundancy – IEEE 62439-3,)
  - RSTP – IEEE 802.1w
CCbus – standard via the RJ45 Ethernet port) communicating with:
- SAZ2000 firmware,
- XSerwer station concentrator,
- local position (diagram),
- other Computers & Control devices via AoE (Automatics over Ethernet)
AAbus – optional – via OPTO interface (single or multimode) for communication with UTXvMSZ or UTXvMR protection,
TRbus – OPTO interface (single-mode) for communication with the second half-set of UTXvZRP or UTXvRP protection,
IEC 870-5-103 – optional – via OPTO interface (multimode)
PPM2 CANBUS – optional – via interfaces: 2xCAN
