Busbar Protection System with Local Breaker Backup Automation UTXvMSZ+LRW

UTX3vMSZ+LRW is a busbar protection system with local breaker backup automation for various types of switchboards.
Working with C&C bay protection or dedicated µUTX3vL/SSZ acquisition devices via a dedicated AAbus interface.
Universal, programmable field settings allow for virtually any configuration of protection for up to 4 busbars in configurations supporting up to 16 bays.

The devices are equipped with network transmission interfaces – TCP/IP and/or fiber optic operating in the company protocol and the IEC 61850 standard. As standard, it can also communicate via the local AoE Ethernet network and GOOSE signals.

UTXvMSZ+LRW - Busbar Protection System with Local Breaker Backup Automation

Characteristics of the UTXvMSZ+LRW device

The basis for reliable operation of the UTXvMSZ+ Busbar Protection System are the precise and fast measurements of phase, differential and braking currents, the status of the field terminal and Circuit Breaker Failure activation from the acquisition devices.
As standard, it is equipped with a PAX relay output package (a package of 4 strong and fast outputs).
The device reads phase currents, the status of the field terminal and performs any necessary shutdowns using the shutdown circuits of associated field devices or dedicated µUTX3vL/SSZ acquisition devices via the AAbus interface.

Busbar Protection System can be implemented in a concentrated version by mounting the UTXvMSZ+ and µUTX3vL/SSZ acquisition devices in one control cabinet.

UTX3vMSZ+ is characterized by:

  • downloading measurements, states and LRW activations from associated UTX devices via the AAbus interface;
  • switching off circuit breakers in bays via associated devices;
  • protection of up to 16 bays in a system of up to 4 rails;
  • setting stabilizing characteristics for 5 zones (global + 4 basic);
  • the ability to dynamically change the station’s working topology by monitoring the states of switches;
  • a multi-processor digital measurement and decision-making system with four programmable groups of protection settings;
  • function of presenting the field status on a graphic display with support for 15 fully programmable switches;
  • 74 – station signaling functions UP, AL, AW;
  • 33 – bay controller function with presentation of the bay status on a graphic display with support for 15 fully programmable switches;
  • permanent control of the correctness of the terminal’s internal systems;
  • three levels of password-protected permissions;
  • registration of events and disruptions;
  • function of synchronous sampling of analog inputs, time synchronization and real-time clock;
  • device operating times;
  • detailed reporting of the fault clearing process on the display and transmitted to the system;
  • graphic display and 11-button keyboard and 16 LEDs (15 freely programmable);
  • 32 logical functions with programmable modifiers to implement simple and complex algorithms;
  • possibility of visualization, control and configuration via the SAZ 2000 program.

UTX3 devices enable communication in the following protocols:

  • IEC 61850 – standard via the RJ45 Ethernet port implementing:
    • IEEE 802.3 10Base-T/100Base-TX
    • QoS (Supports Quality-of-Service)
    • VLAN (802.1Q tag-based VLAN function)
    • SNTP (RFC 2030, RFC 4330)
    • TCP/IP v4
    • Equipping with a RedBox redundant transmission module extends the functionality by:
      • 2 x IEEE 802.3 100Base-FX LC connector or optional 2 x IEEE 802.3 10Base-T/100Base-TX
      • PRP parallel redundancy protocol and HSR uninterrupted high availability redundancy – IEEE 62439-3,)
      • RSTP – IEEE 802.1w
  • CCbus – standard via the RJ45 Ethernet port) communicating with:
    • SAZ2000 firmware,
    • XSerwer station concentrator,
    • local position (diagram),
    • other Computers & Control devices via AoE (Automatics over Ethernet)
  • AAbus – optional – via OPTO interface (single or multimode) for communication with UTXvMSZ or UTXvMR protection,
  • TRbus – OPTO interface (single-mode) for communication with the second half-set of UTXvZRP or UTXvRP protection,
  • IEC 870-5-103 – optional – via OPTO interface (multimode)
  • PPM2 CANBUS – optional – via interfaces: 2xCAN
